8 Tamil youths arrested in Wattegama

Eight Tamils youths were taken into custody by Sri Lanka police and Sri Lanka Army (SLA) when they conducted a cordon and search in Puthukaadu area in Wattegama police division in Kandy district Sunday night.

During the operation about fifty houses in the area were searched.

Six youths who had been residing in these houses were arrested when they failed to prove their identity and reasons for their stay, police sources said.
