Kathirkaamam foot pilgrims to be photographed

The annual festival of the historic Kathirkaamam Murukan temple located in the southern province is to commence on July 3 and to conclude on July 18 with the water-cutting ceremony (Theerththath thiruvizhaa) in the Maa'nikka Kangkai. Foot pilgrims from the eastern province are expected to enter Kathirkaamam area Tuesday, temple sources said. However, foot pilgrims are to be photographed by the security forces when they trek through the Yala sanctuary to Kathirkaamam

The activities of foot pilgrims would be monitored while staying in Kathirkaamam, police said.
