Tamil youth abducted in Wellawatte

Jeganathan Dinesh, 24, working in a communication centre along Vihare Mawatte in Wellawatte, was abducted by unidentified armed persons arrived in white van Saturday night around 9:30 p.m., according to complaints lodged with the Wellawatte Police and human rights groups.

He had joined the communication centre six months earlier.

The unidentified gang forced the youth to come out of the centre, dragged him into their van, and drove away, sources further said.

Wellawatte Police have begun inquiry into the incident.
