SLA patrol ambushed - Radio

The Voice of Tigers broadcast in the Vanni said this morning that an attack group of the LTTE ambushed route clearing patrol of the Sri Lankan army around noon yesterday in north Trincomalee, between Pulmoddai and the 13th mile post.
Three SLA soldiers were killed in the attack said the VOT broadcast. The LTTE recovered one T-56 rifle with full stock, medium ammo 75, one M 4 grenade etc.Major Aathavan of the LTTE (Sebamalai Xavier Thayananthan of Mannar) died in the attack, the VOT said. The radio also said that two Tigers were killed yesterday in an accidental explosion near Karuppatta Murippu. They were identified as Srinivasan (Koapalasingham Jeytharan of Periyamadu, Puliyankulam) and Mullaiarasan (Sivasubramaniam Chandrakumar of Jaffna). The VOT also said that nine civilians from Uruthirapuram in Kilinochchi who went to see their houses which were abandoned after the SLA moved into the area have gone missing since last Thursday.
