Displaced Muslim civilian abducted in Puththalam

Mohamed Hussein, 37, a father of five children, was abducted Thursday evening in Veppamadu, a resettlement village in Puththalam division in the north western province, by unidentified armed men. The victim was earlier living Mannaar, but later was displaced with his family, and had been residing in Veappamadu, according to complaints lodged with the Puththalam Police by his relatives.

Hussein was driving his three-wheeler from Veappamadu to Puththalam on hire when he was abducted.

The armed men stopped him at the second mile post along Puththalam-Veppamadu road took and him with the three-wheeler, according to complaints by his relatives.
