Farmer shot dead in Vadamaraadchi

Unidentified armed men shot and killed a young farmer Wednesday around 7:00 a.m in Kudaththanai area in Vadamaraadchi East near his vegetable farm, sources in Vadamaraadchi said. His relatives who had gone in search of him on hearing gun shots from the direction of his vegetable farm found him dead, the sources added.

The victim was identified as Kidinan Katheeswaran, 24.

Katheeswaran had gone to his vegetable farm Wednesday early morning.

His bicycle lay abandoned at the place where he was gunned down.

Point Pedro police recovered the victim’s body and handed it over to Manthikai government hospital for post mortem examination to be held.
