NEIAP engineer shot dead in Batticaloa

North East Irrigation and Agriculture project(NEIAP) Assistant Engineer Logesh Premalatha, 28, was shot by two unknown gunmen at her residence in Theaththaatheevu in Ka'luvaagnchikkudi Wednesday around 6:20 a.m. Ms. Premalatha succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, Police said.

The gunmen have also robbed from the family before they shot Premalatha..

Mr. Logesh, the victim's husband, who is also an Engineer of the Road Development Authority (RDA), was at the house when the gunmen entered their house.

A vehicle which was in their possession was robbed a few days back by armed men, residents said.
