SLA soldier recovered dead in Mukamaalai FDL

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) in Mukamaalai Front Defence Line area on finding an SLA soldier dead with gunshot wounds Wednesday early morning at his post informed Kodikaamam police. Gunshot wounds found on the body indicate that he had been shot at from behind and it is unlikely that he committed suicide, the police said.

Point Pedro Additional magistrate Allex Rajah acting as Chaavakachcheari magistrate inspected the body and directed the police to hand over the body for post mortem examination to be held and to submit the report to him. He further instructed the police to first send the body to the Judicial Medical Officer in Colombo and thereafter to make arrangements to have it handed over to the victim's family in his home town.
