Colombo main roads to be closed daily for one hour

All main roads from Colpetty junction up toSri Lanka parliament building will be closed for general traffic both in the morning and afternoon from Tuesday till Friday for one hour to maintain the security of Prime Minister and cabinet ministers, cabinet Security Division announced Monday.

The roads will be closed in the morning from 9:00 a.m. till 9:30 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. till 5:30 p.m. in the afternoon.

The road closure decision was reached at a meeting held at the Police Department to discuss the security of the senior cabinet ministers prompted by the recent attack on Minister of Agricultural Development Maithiripala Srisena at Priwena Junction, Boralesgamuwa cabinet security division sources said.
