ICRC receive 4 Tiger bodies

The Sri Lankan army handed over through the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society the bodies of four Tigers who had been killed in two separate incidents to the LTTE yesterday.

The Voice Of Tigers gave the names of their dead this morning. One LTTE fighter was killed in an incident at Omanthai on Nov. 9.

The other three had been killed at Nayinamadu on the Puliyankulam Nedunkerny road on Nov. 10.

Sources in Vavuniya said that the lower rungs of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society are not happy that the ICRC palms off the responsibility of handing over bodies of dead Tigers which are more often than not in an advanced state of decomposition due to the time that the army normally takes to hand over LTTE bodies.

They say that the normally bodies of soldiers which the LTTE hands over to the army through the ICRC are embalmed and packed except when there are very large scale attacks.

Some sources in the Vanni say that the army hands over LTTE bodies after letting them decompose to a degree as part of its psy-ops tactics.
