Slain parliamentarian Maheswaran's death anniversary to be held

The first death anniversary of Mr.T.Maheswaran, Colombo district parliamentarian, is to be held on December 21 Sunday at Bambalapitya Kathireasan Hall. He was shot dead while attending prayer in Colombo Ponnambalavaaneswarar Kovil on January 1st this year.

Three books, Maheswaran through media, Maheswaran speeches in parliament, and Tribute by Parliament – are to be released during the anniversary event.

The release of a CD will also take place, organizers said.

Tamil scholar Professor Dr.R.Selvakanapathy is to deliver memorial lecture.

A remembrance event is also to be held at his birthplace Kaarainagar.

A religious ceremony will be held in Kaarainagar Sivan Temple the same day, sources said.
