Three TELO cadres killed

Three members of the Tamil Eelam Liberation Organisation (TELO) were killed and another wounded when a van they were travelling in was attacked by unidentified gunmen around 7 p.m. today at Kururmankaadu, a suburb junction 2 km. west of Vavuniya town.

Sources at the Vavvuniya hospital said a university student was also wounded in the incident.

The wounded are: Premkumar (20) and Rajkumar (29). Both have been transferred to Anuradhapura hospital.

Local residents said that a two-wheel tractor had blocked the TELO van and a fight broke out. The fighting is between the PLOTE and TELO they said.
