SLN arrests 4 fisherman on Mannaar sea

Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) in Kaangeasanthu’rai arrested four fisherman from Mannaar on I’ra’nai Theevu in Mannaar sea with explosives and detonators and handed them over to Oorkaavattu’rai police. The police produced the 4 fishermen in Oorkaavattu’rai court Friday before magistrate Ms. Joy Mahatheva. The fishermen are suspected to be using explosives to catch fish, the police said.

The magistrate directed the police to detain the four fishermen in Jaffna Prison till 20 February.
