TMVP person recovered dead in Batticaloa

Vaazhaichcheanai police recovered Thursday around 10:00 a.m the body of the Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal (TMV) person in charge of Vaakaneari, from Ottuveli in their division in a decomposed state, informed by the public. The victim had died due to the injury caused by being hit with a stone, Vaazhaichcheanai district medical officer, Dr. Atchuthan, who performed the post mortem examination said.

The wife of the victim, T. Kokilavani identified the body as that of her husband, Palipodi Thankeswaran, 27.

Thankeswaran had been reported missing since 17 February with the police.

Vaazhaichcheanai Magistrate Manickavasakar Kanesarasa who gave verdict that Thameswaran had been murdered, directed the police to arrest the suspects and to produce them in the court.

The victim’s sister said that inner conflict within the TMVP is the reason for the killing.

Vaakaneari is located 15 km west of Vaazhaichcheanai.
