The Sri Lankan army's Military Police raided the EPDP office in Jaffna town today. Sources there said that the military Police confiscated fifteen hand guns from the EPDP office.
This follows an incident which the SLA's Jaffna town commander had witnessed accidentally. He had found some EPDP cadres attempting to murder a civilian said the sources. Some members of the EPDP who were interrogated by the SLA's Military Police have said, according to reports, that the person whom they had threatened has some of their weapons buried in Kopay - that they were trying to elicit the information about the arms cache from him. Officers of the EPDP in Jaffna were not available for comment.
