Tamil civilian reported missing in Kinniya

A Tamil civilian, Sivasegaram Panchalingam, 35, a resident of Kinniya in Trincomalee district, has been reported missing since Monday morning after he left for work, according to a complaint lodged with the Kinniya Police by his wife.

Sivasegaram left Monday morning for work as usual in his motorbike but did not returned home, his wife told the police.

The missing person is said to be working in a local non-governmental organization which is engaged in rural development, sources said.

People of area suspect that he had been abducted, but the police say that there was no evidence to indicate there was abduction.

Police have begun investigations into the disappearance.
