Another SLA soldier found dead in Jaffna

A Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldier, who was on night duty guarding the Peoples Bank branch located along Stanley Road in Jaffna was found shot dead in the vicinity of the bank during the early hours of Thursday, Police said. The SLA has beefed up security following the report of another mysterious death among the SLA soldiers in Jaffna for the second day.

In the early hours of Wednesday, SLA soldiers occupying an abandoned house in the area near Post Box junction heard a shot fired around 1:20 a.m., and recovered a dead body of an SLA soldier. The SLA said the soldier had shot himself to death.
