Police search Karu Jayasuriya's ancestral home

An armed police team Friday night searched the ancestral home of the wife of Karu Jayasuriya, who currently holds the post of the Deputy Leader of the main opposition United National Party (UNP) on an alleged report that arms and printed matters of defamatory nature were stored in there house. Karu Jayasuriya said the premises situated in Ranmuthugala, Kadawatha was occupied by his wife’s brother but was being temporarily used as the office of an area coordinator for the common opposition candidate General (retd) Sarath Fonseka.
