Two SLA killed near Mallaavi - VOT

The Voice of Tigers said in its short wave broadcast this morning that two SLA soldiers from the Maruthamadukkulam camp near Mallaavi in the Vanni who were on a road patrol were killed in an ambush by the Liberation Tigers on Tuesday, April 6.

The radio said that the other soldiers in the patrol had escaped with injuries. There were no casualties among the attacking LTTE according to the VOT.

The following weapons were recovered by the Tigers the radio said.

3 T-56 assault rifles

12 AK Magazines with rounds

15 grenades.

5 ammunition pouches

3 communications sets

The SLA's forward positions west of Mankulam are currently less than eight kilometers from Mallaavi. The army sends out road patrols and ambush parties to monitor the activities of the Tigers ahead of its Forward Defence Localities west of Mankulam.
