Indian Foreign Secretary arrives in Colombo on three day visit

Three member delegation led by Indian Foreign Secretary Ms Nirupama Rao arrived in Colombo Saturday night around 10:30 on a three day official visit. She is scheduled to meet Sri Lanka's President Mahinda Rajapakse and other government leaders and hold discussion on the resettlement of internally displaced Tamil families, and prospective political solution to Tamil national question, informed political sources in Colombo said.

Ms Rao is also expected to meet the delegations of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) led by Mr.R.Sampanthan and the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) led by Mr.Rauf Hakim Sunday evening.

This is Ms Rao's first official visit to Sri Lanka after assuming the post of Foreign Secretary and also her first visit to Colombo after her stay in Sri Lanka as the Indian High Commissioner.
