2 resettled Vanni IDPs gone missing in Jaffna

A 17-year-old student from Sangkaanai in Jaffna peninsula and a family man from Naaranthanai in the islets of Jaffna, both Internally Displaced Persons brought from Vavuniyaa camps and resettled in Jaffna district by Sri Lanka Army, had been reported missing by their family members to Human Rights Commission (HRC) Jaffna office. The mother of the student and the wife of the family man had made the complaints to HRC.
The student reported missing is Sivagnanam Sasipan, studying at Sangkaanai Sivapragasam Viththiyaalayam. He and his family had been held in Arunasalam camp in Vavuniyaa. Sasipan had gone missing after leaving home to a private education centre near his house Wednesday evening, his mother Sivagnanm Kamalathevi said in her complaint. The family man reported missing is Don Boscos Silath, 34, brought to Naaranthanai on 25.10.2009 by SLA and resettled there. Don Boscos had gone missing in Jaffna town where he had come for purchase 15 March, according to his wife Lalithathevi’s complaint made to HRC.
