Jaffna Campus holds convocation after three years

Chancellor M. Sivasuriya presided at the convocation ceremony of Jaffna University Friday morning which will continue for three days with five separate segments every day, in order to accommodate the 3,972 graduating students, sources in Jaffna said. This convocation takes place after a period of three years as the University administration and its Student Union had decided not to hold any ceremonial events in the university while their fellow students caught in Vanni suffered in the war which broke in the latter part of 2006.

Vice-chancellors, faculty deans and the graduates were honoured and taken in procession at the beginning of the convocation ceremony.

Family members of the graduating students from Jaffna peninsula, North and East tool part in the ceremonial events.
