The Voice of Tigers radio (VoT) said in its night news broadcast today that the skeletal parts of 25 persons have so far been recovered from the area in which the Kilinochchi Sri Lanka Army (SLA) base was located before it was overrun by the Tigers last year.
The radio said the skeletons and bones were recovered from pits and toilets in the overrun base and it outer defence perimeter. VoT further said that three patients died yesterday in the Kilinochchi hospital due to the ban on travel between Vavuniya and LTTE controlled parts of the Vanni. The radio said that the condition of many other patients who have to be sent from the Vanni for emergency treatment at the Vavuniya hospital is also deteriorating fast due to the delay caused by travel ban. A Lt.Col and a trooper from the LTTE women's unit were killed yesterday in a clash with the SLA in Manalaaru the VoT announced.
