SLA conducts search operation in Kopay

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) declared curfew in Kopai, Irupalai East, and Irupalai South from early hours of the morning today, and conducted a search operation there, said sources in Jaffna.
The SLA herded men and women to a temple premises and interrogated them before masked informers. According to unconfirmed reports three persons were arrested during the operation. The SLA also conducted search operations in the Jaffna town area said sources. Meanwhile, two SLA personnel who were in possession of narcotic drugs were arrested in Vadamaradchi yesterday. They were produced before the Pt.Perdo acting magistrate, Mr. K.Nadarajah, who remanded them till April 29. In another incident, the Pt.Pedro Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) Chairman detained 15 youths yesterday and confiscated their Identity cards for watching porn videos. The chairman asked the youths meet at the his office with their parents today. The parents were informed why he had confiscated the ID cards.
