[TamilNet, Tuesday, 22 June 2010, 06:32 GMT]
Puththa'lam Magistrate Monday ordered further remand till
June 30 for a Sinhalese civilian Amarasingha Chandana when he was
produced from prison on a charge that he was carrying a photograph of
LTTE leader Velupillai Pirapaharan.
The prosecuting police officer told
the court that investigation against him is not complete. The suspect was arrested last week while he was returning home in a
three wheeler from a shop with the photograph of LTTE leader. Chandana was stopped at a check point by the police and found him with the
photograph. Initial inquiry revealed that the suspect had cut the
picture of the LTTE leader from a newspaper and framed it in order show it
to the ‘future generation’, the court was told.
