3 die of dengue fever in Mannaar in July

Three of twenty-nine dengue patients admitted in Mannaar general hospital have died in July. Meanwhile, the Department of Health in Mannaar has launched a campaign against the spread of dengue.

The victims were identified as Krishnaselvi of Madukkarai, 31, Nageswari, 41, of Ezhuthoor in Periyakamam, Sajithkumar, 7, of Keari, health department sources in Mannaar said.

The Department of Health has appealed to heads of schools and local authorities in Mannaar to ensure that no refuse is left along roads and public places and school compounds.
