Naval patrol vessels on Saturday, evening attacked about six Tiger boats suspected to be transporting weapons from a trawler in the mid sea, off Mullativu coast, navy sources said.

At about 5.30 evening on May 1st, naval patrol vessels in the area observed about six Tiger boats returning to the shore from the midsea.

Naval sources suspected that those boats were being used to transport weapons by the Tigers.

The supply boat found in the midsea later disappeared, said a naval source.
