SL Police identifies body washed ashore in Wellawatte

One of the two bodies of young men found in Wellawatte beach was identified as that of Ramakrishnan Sandanakumar from Rangala state plantation who was employed in a shop in Wellawatte, according to Wellawatte Police. The second body is yet to be identified. Police found the bodies washed ashore on Sunday morning, one of the bodies near a naval camp located in the area and the other body near the Wellawatte railway station.
Police inquiry revealed the Sandanakumar left from his room on October
15 stating that he was going to meet his friend and did not return. The clothing and the wallet with money of Sandanakumar were found near Ramakrishna Hall. The belongings of the other dead person have not been located, according to the Police. Additional Magistrate of Mt.Lavinia, Ruchira Weliwatte, visited the two places where the bodies were found and ordered the Judicial Medical Officer of Kalubowila Hospital to conduct the post-mortem. Further investigations are being conducted by Wellawatte Police.
