Rajapaksa's LLRC to continue beyond stipulated period

Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) appointed by Sri Lanka’s President Mahinda Rajapakse on 15th May this year would continue to record evidence from members of the public beyond the stipulated period of six months, according to its Chairman, C.R de Silva.

C R de Silva said LLRC wanted more members of public to give evidence to the commission and added that it would be very difficult to predict how long the sitting of the LLRC would continue.

However recommendations based on submissions already made had been submitted to Sri Lankan president. Further sittings of the LLRC will also be held from 11 to 15 November in Jaffna, according to C.R.de Silva.
