Senior TELO members shot dead in Colombo

Three members of the Tamil Eelam Liberation Organisation (TELO), including two senior members, were shot dead in Bambalapitiya, a suburb of the capital Colombo around 6.45 p.m. today.

They were shot at as they got out of a van in front of the Passport office at Station Road.

They are: Rajaratnam Kugarajah alias Kuga, Vavuniya district organiser, Sivalingam Sivathasan alias Thas, in charge of finance and Mirukandan Jeyakody, a supporter.

Rajaratnam Kugarajah and Sivalingam Sivathasan died on the spot while the third member died at the Colombo National hospital on admission.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
