Indian High Commission rejects Jeyaratne's LTTE camp statement as "baseless"

The Indian High Commission in Colombo Thursday denied the claims made by Sri Lanka's Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne that there were three LTTE training camps in Tamil Nadu, according to a news report carried this evening by Times Online. Spokesman for the Indian High Commission in Colombo Birender Singh Yadav said that the statement was ‘baseless’ and a detailed response will follow.

Mr Jayaratne speaking during the emergency debate in parliament said that LTTE cadres are being trained in three different locations in Tamil Nadu under the supervision of Pugalendran Master, a close associate of former LTTE Intelligence wing leader Pottu Amman.

He told Parliament the training was given to carry-out violence in Sri Lanka and specially trained to target high profile Indian politician, Timesonline reports further said.
