Body of male washed ashore in Analai-theevu

Unidentified and highly decomposed body of a male, estimated to be between ages 30 and 35 was found at the beach in Analai-theevu Saturday by fishermen, sources in the Jaffna islet said. Local residents said that in the last few years bodies of Indian fishermen have been washed ashore in several islet beaches.

The body was clothed in blue shorts and a grey-color shirt, villagers who saw the body said.

Oorkaaval-thu'rai (Kayts) Magistrate Joy Mahadeva who visited the site for investigations, ordered the police to transfer the body to the Jaffna Hospital.

The Magistrate also instructed the police to take necessary steps to identify the body.
