LTTE officials meet NGOs over route

S.P.Thamilchelvan, leader of the Liberation Tigers' political section and his deputy, Karikaalan, met the representatives of international non governmental organisations in the Vanni to explain the position of the LTTE regarding opening of a route to the areas held by the LTTE., the Voice of Tigers (VoT) radio said in its morning news broadcast today.
The radio said that the two senior members of the LTTE had explained to the NGOs their role in the attempts to open a route into the Vanni and the details of exchanges between the LTTE and the Sri Lankan security forces on the matter. However the radio did not give any details of the discussion that took place between the LTTE officials and the NGO representatives, which had taken place at Mallavi yesterday around 4 p.m. The ICRC, UNHCR, Oxfam and MSF participated in the discussion the radio said. R.Tharmakulasingam, Government Agent of Mullaithivu and T.Rasanayagam Government Agent of Kilinochchi were also present at the meeting.
