Two arrested in Ampara

Two Tamil youths were arrested by Karaitivu Special Task Force (STF) during a cordon and search operation in Kalmunai about 22 km. north-east of Ampara, on Thursday, residents said.

Balakrishnan Niranjan, 21 and Sachchithanandan Selvamathan,17, of Udaiyar Street in Kalmunai, are now detained in Karativu STF camp, human rights sources said.

Human Rights Commission's co-ordinating officer R.Manoharan in Kalmunai has been informed of the arrests, sources said.
