President Speaks At Military Graduation Ceremony

The contribution of the Sri Lankan military is needed to implement the concept of "one nation one country" said the Sri Lankan President, Chandrika Kumaratunga Bandaranaike, while speaking at the Kothelawala military college graduation ceremony held at the Bandaranaike conference hall yesterday.
The military have been working hard to bring an end to the conflict, she said, and congratulated the wives and parents of military personnel. The government's intention is to bring peace and harmony by implementing the peace plan, the President said. Members of the military forces should become more efficient to meet the challenges of the future, the President added. The Sri Lankan Deputy Defence Minister, Anurudha Ratwatte, and other commanders of the Sri Lankan forces were also present at the meeting.
