Two more transformers blasted

Two transformers, one at the Industrial Estate at Poonthoddam, another at Periyaarkulam in the same area the eastern outskirts of Vavuniya were blasted in the early hours of the morning today, said sources.

Officials at the Ceylon Electricity Board have estimated the value of the two destroyed transformers at over one million rupees.

Sources further said that 12 transformers have been blasted in Vavuniya area during the past 6 weeks.
