Colombo brings back EPDP terror assassins from exile
[TamilNet, Saturday, 07 March 2020, 23:42 GMT]
The military intelligence of occupying Colombo has allowed SL Cabinet Minister Douglas Devananda to bring back exiled assassins of his war-time paramilitary outfit EPDP back to the island and into Jaffna in the recent days, informed sources in Colombo said. Some of the EPDP terror operatives deployed by the SL intelligence establishment to commit targeted assassinations and abductions to destabilise the 2002 ceasefire towards the run-up to the genocidal onslaught in 2009 exiled during the previous Rajapaksa regime. These are the ones, now returning to Jaffna, the sources said.
After 2009, the occupying SL military was using the paramilitary operatives to extort money from the Tamils. The sources in Colombo provided the names of some EPDP terror operatives who have returned to the island in the recent days. TamilNet was able to verify one of these assassins independently. The name is withheld for the protection of the sources. Sinhala military intelligence officers, who were handling the EPDP operatives had been transferred to the South in the past. But, in recent times, some of them have been posted back to North. In the meantime, in a separate project, Indian foreign intelligence agency, known as the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), has been infiltrating the circles of exiled former LTTE members and the gullible sections among the diaspora personalities, who were associated with fundraising for the Tamil liberation struggle in the past. The RAW operations are carried out with close cooperation with the SL State Intelligence Service (SIS) to detect and trace those who are easily prone to picking the armed option, informed diaspora sources commented.
