Demonstration by PA supporters

Hundreds of supporters of the ruling People's Alliance (PA) demonstrated today at the Liptons Circus in Colombo and burnt the effigy of Ranil Wickremasinghe, the main opposition party candidate for the presidential election.

The demonstration was led by Minister of Provincial Council and Local Government, Alavi Moulana.

Today's demonstrations was held despite ban on public getheinrg during the election campaign period, sources in Colombo said.
