Kalutara death certificate sought

The Sri Lankan Supreme Court has directed the lawyers to forward the death certificate of fundamental rights applicant Antonypillai Jesudasan, a detainee at the Kalutara Prison who succumbed to injuries he suffered during the Kalutara prison violence.

At the outset, Senior Counsel Dr.Thiyagar Thirunavukarasu submitted to the Court that he reliably learnt that the petitioner had received fatal injuries and died under tragic circumstances while being under the custody of the Suprentendant of Kalutura Prison .

The Bench comprised Justice Mark Fernando Justice Wadugodapitiya and Justice Ameer Ismail.
