Tamil parties to meet in Jaffna over elections

The Minister for local government and provincial councils, Mr. Alavi Moulana is to have discussions with Tamil parties tomorrow about the planned local council elections in Jaffna.

The Tamil parties will again discuss the possibility of postponing the election, according to sources.

Meanwhile reports say that a special Lion Air flight will take candidates from various parties and groups to Jaffna tomorrow.

The Government called for nominations for local council elections in Jaffna recently, despite the reservations of the Tamil parties.
