Two super-dvora gun boats sunk

Two Israeli made super-dvora fast attack gun boats were sunk and 15 naval personnel were killed when the Liberation Tigers attacked a convoy of Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) off the coast of Vadamarachchi this morning, the LTTE said in a press release this evening. The Tigers said two other gun boats were seriously damaged in the sea battle.
Following is the full text of the press release: "Two Israeli made super-dvora fast attack gun boats were sunk and another two dvora boats were seriously damaged in a ferocious sea battle between the Sea Tiger commandos and the Sri Lankan navy off the coast of Vadamarachchi East in the Jaffna peninsula this morning. "A flotilla of Tamil Tigers gunboats intercepted a convoy of dvora fast attack crafts in the Mullaitivu seas. A fierce sea battle ensued. Sri Lankan airforce war planes and M1 24 helicopter gunships were also involved in the fighting. In the fighting that lasted for several hours two super-dvora gunboats were sunk and another two dvora boats were badly damaged. 15 naval personnel were killed in the sea battle. 12 Sea Tigers were also killed."
