No applications for postal voting

Sri Lankan Election Commission sources said that no one has applied yet for postal voting in the Jaffna local government polls on 29 January. Although the commission has called for applications for postal voting on many occasions, there has been absolutely no response they said.

Meanwhile Mr. Dayananda Dissanyaka, the Elections Commissioner, has called all the Tamil parties contesting the elections in Jaffna for a conference on December 30, next Tuesday.

The Inspector General of Police will also be present at the conference sources said.
