Tigers release MV Missen crewmember

The Liberation Tigers Tuesday released one crewmember of the vessel MV “Missen” who has been in their custody since 1 July 1997 to the representatives of the International Committee of Red Cross at Killinochchi. The sailor was identified as Jayantha Jayakody.

“Three more crew members of the vessel Missen, four from the vessel MV Princess Cash, 9 SrI Lanka army soldiers and one SL Navy sailor, altogether 17 persons, are still in the custody of the LTTE”, Mr.Harasha Gunawardene, Information Officer of the I.C.R.C. told TamilNet.

He said: “The released crew member Jayantha Jayakody will be united with his family tomorrow”.
