The Teldeniya Magistrate Monday ordered the transfer of former Deputy Defence Minister General Anurudhha Ratwatte from Colombo National Hospital where he had been kept in remand custody to Kandy Bogambara prisons. General Ratwatte was taken to Teldeniya by prison vehicle from Colombo Monday. He is the 35th suspect in the Udathalawinne murder case in which ten Muslim youths were brutally gunned down on the general election day in December last year.
General Ratwatte's two sons Lohan and Chanuka are also among the other suspects in this case. They are kept in remand custody in the Kandy Bogambara prisons. The Magistrate Ms Inoka Ranasinghe ordered further remand for all the suspects and put off the inquiry for a later date.
