TNA parliamentarians to meet Thamilchelvan

All Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Parliamentarians have been invited by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) for a top-level discussion on the on going peace process . Mr.S.P.Thamilchelvan, the head of the LTTE's political wing has sent invitations to the TNA parliamentarians.

The discussion with TNA parliamentarians is likely to be centred on the present political development, proposed peace talks and the proposed interim administration to the Northeast province, TNA sources said.

Meanwhile, all members nominated by the LTTE to be on the local monitoring committees in Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Ampara, Vavuniya and Jaffna are to meet LTTE's political advisor Mr.Anton Balasingham on Friday in Vanni. They are on their way to Vanni through the nothern boarder town of Vavuniya, on LTTE's invitation, sources said.

In the meantime, the Trincomalee office of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) will be opened on Monday, according to the Trincomalee Government Agent Mr.N.H.K.Nelumdeniya. The office of SLMM will be located in a building, which earlier housed the Trincomalee Divisional Secretariat.

Venerable Sumangala Dharmakeerthi Thera, Chief Incumbent of the Seruvila Raja Maha Vihare and Mr.M.K.Akbar, a Colombo businessman have been nominated by the government to the Trincomalee monitoring committee. The nominees of the LTTE are Attorney-at law and a leading human rights activist, K.Sivapalan and Mr.S.Tharmalingam, a retired village level officer
