Norway's Ambassador visits Vanni

The Norwegian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mr. Jon Westborg, and the leader of Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM), Mr.Trond Furuhoved arrived in Kilinochchi in the northern Vanni region, Saturday morning, in a Sri Lanka Air Force helicopter, 'Thamil Eelam Vanoli', the commercial service of the Voice of Tigers said in its news broadcast this evening.
Members of the LTTE's political wing received the Norwegian team, which landed at Kilinochchi Maha Vidyalayam ground and took them to the office of the SLMM in Kilinochchi. The Kilinochchi office started functioning on Wednesday, the radio said. Norway's Ambassador later flew to Puthukudiyiruppu in the Mullaithivu district to hold talks with the leadership of the Liberation Tigers, the radio said further. The Ambassador's visit comes two days ahead of the planned opening of the A9 high way to northern Jaffna town. The LTTE leader, Mr. Vellupillai Pirapaharan is scheduled to address a press conference on Wednesday.
