Moragoda to visit Thenmaradchchi

A senior minister in the United National Front government is to visit Thenmaradchchi area in Jaffna district Saturday to inquire into complaints that members of state armed forces are removing palmyra trees cut down in the north to south of the country.
A group of Tamil National Alliance parliamentarians Tuesday met the Minister of Economic Reforms and complained that members of security forces serving in the northern province are removing palmyra timber which had been cut down in Jaffna district to the south of the country for their personal use. Minister Morogoda assured the TNA delegation that he would conduct inquiries into such activities. TNA parliamentarians Mr. G.G.Gajendrakumar and Mr.N.Raviraj would accompany the Minister to Thenmaradchi on Saturday, TNA sources said.
