Second session of talks between the LTTE and the Sri Lankan government commenced at the Rose Garden Resort in Thailand.

Conflict resolution: Norwegian Deputy Foreign Minister, Vidar Helgesan (head of the table) chairs the meeting. To the left is the LTTE delegation, comprising (l-r) Mr Tamilselvan, Head of the movement’s Political Wing, Mrs Adele Ann Balasingham, Secretary to the team, Chief Negotiator Anton Balasingham (out of view), and Col. Karuna. To Mr. Helegesen’s right is Mr. Jon Westborg, Norwegian Ambassador to Sri Lanka.
