SLA claims 4 Tigers killed

The SLA claimed today that it killed 4 Liberation Tigers, including two women members, who had infiltrated its defence at Nedunkerni around 2.30 p.m.

The SLA had asked the Red Cross Societies Vavuniya branch chief Mr. Sivanathan Kishor to come and collect the bodies from the Manal Aru SLA camp, and to send them to the Vanni, through the ICRC to be handed over to the Liberation Tigers.

Meanwhile an Officer in Charge (OIC) at SLA camp in Madawachiya was suspended today for neglect of duties. The officer had been held responsible for the escape of two suspected members of the Liberation Tigers from his camp on Friday.

The escaped suspects had not yet been found despite a major search operation in the area.
