LTTE seeks applicants to join Police Force[TamilNet, Friday, 15 November 2002, 18:25 GMT]Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) has requested men and women who satisfy requirements published by the LTTE Police Personnel department to apply to fill vacant positions in its Police Force, sources said. This request follows the opening of a Police station at Palugamam in Batticaloa district last month. For the position of deputy Police inspector, applicants must have passed General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level (AL), equivalent to Grade-12 examinations, aged 18-30 and height at least 5'6". The expected remuneration is Rs5000 per month, the LTTE communiqué said. For the position of Police officer, the applicant must have passed GCE Ordinary Level (OL), equivalent to Grade-10 examinations, aged 18-30, and a height of at least 5'6". For the successful candidates accommodation, transport and training will be provided, the communiqué further said. The Personnel branch of the LTTE Police department requested potential applicants to contact the nearest political office or the LTTE police stations.
